The St. Johns County Employee Connection
FYI from Personnel Services
FSA, HRA, DCA Spending Account Deadline
The end of the year is quickly approaching and with it the deadline to use any unused funds in a Spending Account, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) and/or Dependent Care Account (DCA). The FSA plan includes a rollover provision, with a minimum of $75 up to a maximum of $500 rolling over to 2020. Please be mindful that any unused balance under or over the allotted amount will be forfeited after December 31. HRA and DCA plans do not include a rollover provision. Call Medcom at 800-523-7542, Option 1 if you need to check your balance(s).
2020 Benefit Enrollment Confirmation Statements
Final confirmation statements have been emailed to all employees enrolled in health insurance for 2020. Please review your enrollment statement and if you discover any discrepancies, please contact Personnel Services by December 20. Your coverage will remain in effect for the 2020 calendar year, unless you experience a qualifying life event. If you have questions, email your Benefits Team. Deductions will be reflected on the first pay of 2020 so please review your pay voucher for accuracy.
Charitable Donation Program
The County offers a Charitable Donation program for vacation leave donations to the United Way of St. Johns County. Donations are taxed consistent with IRS regulations and all funds donated remain in St. Johns County. If you are interested in participating, you may donate up to 24 hours of vacation leave to the local United Way. The Charitable Donation Form can be found on the County Intranet.
Compassionate Leave Program
The County offers a Compassionate Leave program allowing vacation leave donations to eligible employees experiencing financial challenges in the event they exhaust their own leave balances due to an unexpected medical crisis. If you are interested in participating, you may donate vacation leave by submitting a Compassionate Leave Donor Form. Use “employee in need” in place of employee name on the form.

2020 Holiday Calendar and 2019 Vacation Rollover
For your planning, please be aware that the vacation rollover deadline for 2019 is the last pay period of the calendar year (December 1 – December 14) for the pay check dated December 20. As you plan for the upcoming holiday season, please remember that the cut off for vacation rollover is December 14 and any balance over the maximum limit will be swept at that time. Leave balances are shown on your pay check voucher and you can also check with your supervisor or department time keeper if you are unsure of your leave balance. 2020 Holiday Schedule
Conduct a Paycheck Check Up

If you would like to make a change to your tax withholding; fill out a new 2019 W-4 form and return to Payroll via fax 819-3697.
